To get there, we drove through the city. At one point we came to a red light (not surprisingly). Either my depth perception or my brain as a whole must have been way off at the moment, because what registered in my mind was a few cars ahead of me stopped at a light, backed up to the edge of another crossing street. I thought, &#8220;I should stop at this street to avoid blocking it for the people crossing it while I wait for my light.&#8221; Then the people ahead of me moved, so I slowly continued on. As I did so, two cars turned from that side street onto mine. At that moment Jackie spoke up. &#8220;You know you just went past a red light?&#8221; Doh! The red light was at this street, not the next one, so I should have stopped. I thought I was doing the right thing, but somehow I misread things.
